Hi, I’m Carole CArlson.

I have been a practicing pagan on and off since my teens.  I was a rebellious teenager that didn’t want anything more to do with the organized religion that I was born into.  I had a friend whose mother was a witch and so that became an area of interest for me, in addition to Native American spirituality.

Later, in my twenties, I began my studies in earnest reading everything I could get my hands on and attending some events at Circle Sanctuary, one of the first pagan “churches” in the nation, a short drive from where I lived.  My practice has been primarily solitary and has evolved into my best effort to practice what I’ve learned so far about my pre-Christian European indigenous spiritual pathways – mostly Germanic/Norse and Irish/Welsh.

Recently, I’ve noticed on social media that there are several folks that are wanting to learn more about these pathways, especially witchcraft.  There is so much information and so many groups out there about paganism and witchcraft that these new folks are overwhelmed, frustrated and confused.

This happens a lot in some other work I do, and a teacher said:  "instead of turning on the firehose at them, lets offer a water fountain" that really resonated with me.  The Drumlin Pagan Learning Grove is my effort to construct a well-organized, curated and limited set of resources and tools for new pagans or witches of a variety of traditions/pagan pathways to go to for reliable information in one handy location. do.
